If you are like me (God I hope not) you avoid paying for anything on the internet. Anyway I googled this morning 'World Athletics Championships Budapest Results' and got to the following website from World Athletics https://worldathletics.org/competitions/world-athletics-championships/budapest23/results/men/1500-metres/heats/result Yes , I know it is the startlists for heats of the men's 1500 meters heats. But from there you can navigate on the site and get accredited (sign up) for free to get results of everything in the coming week. It appears that you may even get video highlights of each event. Man, I can't wait to watch the 20Km race walk. But I digress. Really this may be the way to watch. You won't get it live, but it won't be too old and festering. If you have other ways of watching, please share with us and I will post it. If you are already settled in at a nice hotel in Budapest, have a great time.
This is a better way for results:
Here’s the main schedule link George. All 9 days are listed. Also, if one is already paying for Peacock TV there’s a whole list of World Game broadcasts there. Russ Reabold
That said, if you are in Budapest this week, please be aware of the following just off the AP wires.
Hungary’s Orbán to host Turkish, Serbian and other leaders alongside world track championships
BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) — As millions of viewers around the world focus on Hungary
while it hosts the year’s largest international sporting event, its nationalist prime minister
will receive the leaders of Turkey, Serbia, Qatar and a host of Central Asian nations in a sign
of the European country’s continuing drift toward the Eastern sphere of influence.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, a self-proclaimed proponent of “illiberal democracy” who is
characterized by an aggressive stance toward his Western partners, plans numerous bilateral
meetings in the coming days as the capital, Budapest, hosts the 2023 World Athletics
Championships.
The nine-day track and field event will be the backdrop for talks with the Emir of Qatar and
the presidents of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, as well as
leaders from the
Balkan nations of Serbia and Bosnia.
I take issue with the writer that the Track Championships are the biggest sporting event of the year.
The Women's World Cup soccer will probably top Track when all the numbers are
counted. GB
Our Advice: Watch who you get drunk with and do not say anything that will piss off
the local authorities. You could be there for an extended visit.
