Yesterday, John Bork informed us of the passing of his L.A. Track Club teammate Ron Larrieu on Monday June 1.
We've not found much about Ron but will do some research to see what comes up. Ron was a member of the 1964 Olympic team and competed in the 10,000 meters. He did not have a great day as Billy Mills was stunning the world. Ron finished a distant 24th place. But he was nevertheless a long time influential figure in American distance running. After a very good high school career in Palo Alto he had a less than stellar running career until he came under the influence of Mihaly Igloi and the L.A. Track Club. Then he blossomed. He was twice national cross country champion.
Here is what Wikipedia lists about Ron.

He was a two time national champion in cross country, in 1965 and 1966.
