On a day of great joy May 6, 2014 , remembering the 60th anniversary of Roger Bannister's first four minute mile, we were also informed that Frank Budd, the man who took the world 100 yards record down from 9.3 seconds to 9.2, thus relieving several men from the title world's fastest, passed away on this same day. Below is the obituary of Mr. Budd as it appears in Phillynews.com.
